New Commodores join the fold today.

NCAA Football: Vanderbilt at Tennessee Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

You may not have heard, but the NCAA passed a new rule allowing football recruits to sign early between December 20-22, and many Vanderbilt commits are doing exactly that.

We’ll have a running list of early signees over the next three days. Here’s who has dropped anchor thus far.

Rutger Reitmaier: 6’3”/270 pound defensive tackle from Nashville’s own Lipscomb Academy. Was an early enrollee at Oregon in spring 2017 but transferred out after a semester and will now enroll at Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt will apply for a waiver for him to play in 2018; 2017 counts as a redshirt year. Was rated as a three-star recruit and the #23 DT in the Class of 2017 in the 247 Sports composite; Rivals had him as a four-star recruit.

Ben Bresnahan: 6’5”/225 pound tight end from West Forsyth HS in Cumming, GA. Rated as the #34 TE in the Class of 2018 in the 247 Sports composite and the #74 prospect in the state of Georgia; three-star recruit.

Javan Rice: 6’3”/195 pound kicker from Belen Jesuit Prep in Miami, FL. Ranked as the #11 kicker in the Class of 2018 by Kohl’s Kicking.

Max Worship: 6’1”/198 pound defensive back from Cardinal Gibbons HS in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Ranked as the #72 safety in the Class of 2018 and the #137 prospect in the state of Florida; three-star recruit. Former high school teammate of current Commodores Randall Haynie and James Bostic.

Allan Walters: 6’1”/200 pound quarterback from The Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ. Ranked as the #19 quarterback in the Class of 2018 and the #12 prospect in the state of New Jersey; three-star recruit in the 247 Sports composite and Rivals, four-star recruit according to ESPN.

Wyatt Smock: 6’4”/290 pound offensive lineman who played for former Vanderbilt OL Will Wolford at St. Xavier HS in Louisville, KY. Ranked as the #47 offensive guard in the Class of 2018 and the #9 prospect in the state of Kentucky; three-star recruit.

Ja’Veon Marlow: 5’10”/200 pound running back from Winter Haven Senior HS in Florida. Ranked as the #58 RB prospect in the Class of 2018 and the #160 prospect in the state of Florida; three-star recruit.

Tre Douglas: 6’2”/180 pound defensive back from Eagles Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, GA. Ranked as the #40 CB prospect in the Class of 2018 and the #47 prospect in the state of Georgia. Four-star recruit per ESPN; three-star recruit per 247 Sports and Rivals.

Dan Dawkins: 6’3”/296 pound offensive lineman from The Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ. Ranked as the #1 center prospect in the Class of 2018 and a four-star recruit by Rivals; the 247 Sports composite pegs him as the #11 center prospect and #13 prospect in New Jersey. High school teammate of QB signee Allan Walters.

C.J. Bolar: 6’2”/196 pound wide receiver from Purvis HS in Mississippi. Ranked as the #109 WR prospect in the Class of 2018 and the #12 prospect in the state of Mississippi; three-star recruit.

Gavin Schoenwald: 6’5”/225 pound tight end from Brentwood Academy. Ranked as the #25 TE prospect in the Class of 2018 and the #18 recruit in the state of Tennessee; three-star recruit. Played QB at Brentwood Academy but is expected to move to tight end at Vanderbilt.

Elijah McAllister: 6’6”/230 pound defensive end from Rumson (NJ) Fair Haven Regional HS; chose Vanderbilt today over Tennessee, Boston College, and Michigan State. Ranked as the #27 SDE prospect in the Class of 2018 and the #19 recruit in the state of New Jersey; three-star recruit.

Brendon Harris: 6’1”/205 pound defensive back from Chattanooga Baylor. Originally committed to Tennessee, but flipped to Vanderbilt in October. Ranked as the #23 S prospect in the Class of 2018 and the #9 recruit in the state of Tennessee; four-star recruit.

Camron Johnson: 6’1”/182 pound wide receiver from Brentwood Academy. Ranked as the #42 WR prospect in the Class of 2018 and the #7 recruit in the state of Tennessee. Four-star recruit who’s currently the highest-rated signee in Vanderbilt’s 2018 class. High school teammate of fellow signee Gavin Schoenwald and basketball signee Darius Garland.

Alston Orji: 6’2”/230 pound linebacker from Rockwall, TX. Ranked as the #10 OLB prospect in the Class of 2018 and the #31 recruit in the state of Texas in the 247 Sports composite. Rivals ranks him as the #108 prospect in the class. Four-star prospect.

Dashaun Jerkins: 6’0”/195 pound defensive back from Woodbridge, VA. Ranked as the #41 S prospect in the Class of 2018 and the #13 recruit in the state of Virginia; three-star prospect.
