Game 10: Vanderbilt Commodores at Arizona State Sun Devils — Open GameThread

Hoo boy.

When this game was scheduled, Arizona State was coming off two straight losing seasons. They were picked to finish sixth in the Pac-12 in the preseason poll.

Instead, this is the #5 team in the country. Vanderbilt is 3-6 and coming off an 11-day layoff for finals. On paper, this could get ugly, though Vegas only has the Sun Devils as a 12-point favorite and KenPom predicts an 82-73 final, with the Commodores having a 20 percent chance to win.

That sounds like a lot for this team going on the road to face a top 5 team. Game time is 1:00 PM CT and this will be televised on the Pac-12 Network. Which you probably don’t get, so Joe Fisher it is.

In any case, Vanderbilt will follow this one with a couple of easy games before SEC play starts. This will also be a homecoming for freshman Saben Lee, who played high school ball at Corona del Sol.
