We’ll just sum up today’s events in a few tweets.
Just filed to ESPN: Tennessee has parted ways with AD John Currie on the heels of what has been a disastrous Tennessee coaching search. He met with university officials on Friday morning, and the decision was made then.

Add John Currie buyout to Butch Jones buyout + Greg Schiano settlement (which I expect at some point) + new coach who will want more $ with no AD in place & this is the most expensive coaching change in history.

Sources: John Currie was prepared to hire Mike Leach but university officials wouldn’t allow him to do so. Phillip Fulmer has been sabotaging search process in hopes to become Tennessee’s AD

Another source: Tennessee’s own people have been ambushing (John) Currie’s (coaching search). They shoot themselves in the foot, cock the gun & shoot themselves in the other foot. It’s been going on for a week"

While UT considered Reid Sigmon for interim AD job to replace the fired John Currie, Phillip Fulmer will be named the athletic director at the 4 pm presser, but don't know if full time or interim. With Fulmer at the helm, don't be surprised if pool of candidates opens up.

And that’s just one school that’s on Vanderbilt’s schedule annually. Let’s check down in Oxford, Mississippi, shall we?
Ole Miss has received a two-year bowl ban and multiple scholarship restrictions. Show causes for every coach. Details soon.

The NCAA concluded that Lindsey Miller, Leo Lewis and Kobe Jones were found credible on the Rebel Rags allegations.

Eleven months ago we had a source say and we reported NCAA was going to shoot for 2 year bowl ban, 25 scholarships and multiple show causes. Looks like that was prophetic and nothing changed now to then.

Just a reminder Penn State only served a 2 year bowl ban for Sandusky’s 54 counts of child molestation. Ole Miss had some recruiting violations https://t.co/o0m7MeH7Pq

What the hell, none of us were going to do any work today anyway, so let’s point and laugh at our conference rivals. Feel free to point and laugh at Florida State, too, whose national championship-winning coach was just poached away by Texas A&M; and also Texas A&M, for agreeing to pay $75 million over ten years to a coach whose former team needs to beat Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday to get bowl eligible. (Been there.)
