It’s November 8, which means college basketball’s early signing period has kicked off and we’ve got updates concerning your Vanderbilt Commodores.

First, Charleston (SC) Porter-Gaud SF Aaron Nesmith, currently ranked as the #103 prospect in the country by the 247 Sports composite rating, made it official in a signing ceremony at his high school:

And that might not even be the biggest news from this morning. Vermont Academy PF Simi Shittu, the #7 recruit in the 247 Sports composite, had previously scheduled two official visits. He was at Vanderbilt on the weekend of October 7 (the day of the Georgia game), and had planned an official visit to North Carolina this upcoming weekend. Jeff Borzello broke the news that Shittu will not, in fact, be visiting North Carolina this weekend.

Draw your own conclusions from that. The 247 Sports Crystal Ball feature now has 87% of their insiders predicting that Shittu will commit to Vanderbilt. Even the “UNC Insider” at 247 thinks that Shittu will be a Commodore.

And down the road at Brentwood Academy, longtime Vanderbilt target Darius Garland, another five-star recruit, plans to sign during the early signing period per the Tennessean. 247’s Crystal Ball for Garland has 56% predicting he’ll go to Vanderbilt, with 25% to Indiana.

There’s also some news on Romeo Langford, who visited along with Garland for the Alabama game. Langford apparently doesn’t plan on signing during the early signing period, but he’ll apparently be cutting his list down to three schools this weekend.

So... yeah. This recruiting class could be pretty nice.
