Since South Carolina joined the SEC in 1992, Vanderbilt has gone 4-21 against them.
To put that in perspective, Vanderbilt is 4-21 against Tennessee in the same time period. Vanderbilt is also 2-10 in Columbia, where today’s game will be held, and one of those wins was 11-10 against a team that went 0-11. (Woodyball!) Vanderbilt has won more often in Athens, GA, since 1992 than in Columbia.
Let that sink into your head.
The Commodores have lost eight in a row to the Gamecocks and four in a row overall. And yet somehow, the line is only 6.5 points in favor of the 5-2 Gamecocks. I don’t know, man.
So of course we’ll probably win given all that, because the universe likes to mess with us. This game will kick off at 3 PM CT on the SEC Network. Joe Fisher’s call is on the Vanderbilt IMG Sports Network. Anchor Down.
