The Southeastern Conference released its Week 5 television schedule on Monday. The Vanderbilt Commodores are set for an 11 AM CT kickoff against the Florida Gators.
This is the second year in a row that the Commodores and Gators will meet in an early kickoff. Last year’s game between the two also kicked off at 11 AM and was televised on the SEC Network, a game that ended in a 9-7 victory for the Gators.
Vanderbilt has won just one of its last 25 games against Florida; Florida won 22 games in a row against the Commodores from 1989 to 2012 before Vanderbilt ended the streak with a 34-17 win in 2013. The Gators have won the last two meetings. Prior to all that, though, Vanderbilt won three of five meetings between 1974 and 1988.
Florida is currently ranked 19th in the AP poll and has a 3-0 record, albeit against the likes of Massachusetts, Kentucky, and North Texas; the Gators face their first real test as they go to the place that shall not be named on Saturday afternoon.
