While the men’s basketball team was scoring a commitment from Maxwell Evans over the weekend, the women’s team saw their three-star recruit and raised them a four-star recruit.

Autumn Newby, a 6’2” forward from Lawrenceville (GA) Archer HS, is rated as the #27 prospect in the class of 2017 by ESPN and is, unofficially, Stephanie White’s first recruit as Vanderbilt head coach. She joins a program that signed two five-star recruits in the class of 2016.

The women’s team opens the season at home on November 11 against Kennesaw State.
