It's been a busy weekend for Vanderbilt basketball. In a span of two days, the Commodores lost their head coach and starting point guard.
Now, Vanderbilt Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics David Williams would like to talk about it. He's called a press conference on Monday afternoon to discuss the myriad changes taking place at Memorial Gym. With rumors swirling about the university's private jet making a stop in Wichita, KS, he might even tip his hand and announce the team's first new head coach since Willennium was album of the year.
Williams' decision to hold a press conference doesn't mean there have necessarily been any major steps forward in Vanderbilt's coaching search -- a search that technically started just over 24 hours ago. The vice chancellor officially thanked Kevin Stallings for his service to the university in a press release on Easter Sunday, but he has yet to make a live statement on the Commodores' coaching status.
So Monday's talk with the media could be a mind-blowing hire, or it could just be an update on where Vanderbilt stands after losing its veteran head coach.
The conference is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. CST. Here's the stream:
