2016 NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Round 1

You know, in case basketball isn't dead for you just yet.

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

The way I see it, Vanderbilt basketball can still make a case to be the nation's No. 2 program. All they need to do is root for Wichita State to make a miraculous run to the NCAA title.

The Commodores' season ended on Tuesday with a 70-50 First Four defeat, but the nation's 64 other top teams will begin their journey to a national championship on Thursday. Our first game kicks off at 11:15 a.m. CST when Duke meets in-state foe UNC-Wilmington. That's followed by a pair of 8/9 matchups in Butler-Texas Tech and Connecticut-Colorado. By the time Iona and Iowa State meet at 1:00 p.m., you'll need four televisions to keep up.

Here's the full schedule for the first day of Basketball Christmas:

Follow along with us in the comments. We'll be taking bets on whether or not Grayson Allen assaults someone and bitterly tracking the Shockers when they take on Arizona this evening.
