Vanderbilt could make a bowl game win or lose, as the Commodores might benefit from an arcane NCAA rule concerning what happens when there aren’t enough 6-6 teams to fill all the bowl bids.
As of this morning, 69 (nice!) teams have at least six wins. There are a total of 80 bowl slots. Here are the games to watch today:
Purdue at Indiana (5-6)
Rutgers at Maryland (5-6)
Arkansas State at UL Lafayette (4-6)
Illinois at Northwestern (5-6) — but Northwestern has a higher APR score than us soooo...
Boston College (5-6) at Wake Forest
Duke (4-7) at Miami: Duke has a higher APR score than us so if we’re both 5-7...
Mississippi State at Ole Miss (5-6)
Navy at SMU (5-6)
South Alabama (5-5) at Idaho
North Texas (5-6) at UTEP
Charlotte at UTSA (5-6)
UMass at Hawaii (5-7)
So it looks like we need one of the five-win teams and Duke to lose. Consider this your open thread for the morning and afternoon games.
