So, Wade Freebeck’s run as the Vanderbilt starting quarterback was short-lived. Adam Sparks reports that Kyle Shurmur will play at Kentucky on Saturday:

Shurmur left Saturday’s game against Florida with an apparent eye injury and did not return, though granted, Vanderbilt’s offense only had one more drive after Shurmur departed the game. But to be frank, when I see the words “eye shield” there is only one thing that I can think of, and it’s a tried-and-true method that men of the sea have long used to protect their eyes from injury.
Yarrr. Commodore Shurmur will be making those Wildcats walk the plank on Saturday.
