The class of 2016 is near completion. 8 days before National Signing Day, Andre Mintze,a Hybrid DE/LB from Imhotep Institute in Philadelphia has committed to Vanderbilt while on an official visit. Mintze is commit number 18 for the Commodores, who still have a couple of spots open.
Mintze was flying under-the-radar for the majority of his senior season, however that has changed recently. Mintze first started hearing from Vanderbilt a little more than a week ago. From there, he was offered and then scheduled to visit Vanderbilt this past weekend. After mother nature not agreeing with those plans, he stepped foot on campus yesterday, and moments ago announced on Twitter he was committing to the Commodores.

Mintze chose Vanderbilt over other offers from Pitt, Bowling Green, UMass, Army, and Duke among others. According to 247Sports, he is rated as a 2-Star, and has a good frame at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds.
Mintze was scheduled to visit UMass this upcoming weekend, and it will be interesting to see whether or not he still takes the trip to Amherst. With targets such as Josiah Sa'o, Kelvin Lucky, and a few others still on the board, this is going to be a busy week here in Nashville. AoG will have you covered on the latest.
