If they didn't pick Swanson, Jobu would have been very angry. This one wasn't as big a lock as when David Price went #1 to Tampa, but it's as safe as that. In short, Swanson has the highest floor of anyone in the draft. His MLB comp is Derek Jeter - and as much as I hate the Yankees, that comp is correct. Swanson's a point guard on the diamond, and if he's not banging the likes of Minka Kelly in a year, I'll eat my hat.
I don't like eating hats.
In short, Swanson is the best position player we've ever had. If we could clone him, we would. We would never stop cloning him.
Slot Value: $8,616,900
Swanson is Vanderbilt's 2nd ever #1 overall pick. He won't be our last.

I'd love to be able to link to clips from today's Omaha ticket-puncher, but I feel this will do.
.@LieutenantDans7 does it AGAIN! Vandy goes up in the top of the 9th on the 2-run blast. #RoadToOmaha http://t.co/RKNAB7VPqN
