MLB Draft Signing Watch: Bryce Denton Signs With Cardinals

3B/OF Bryce Denton will not be bringing his power stroke to the Hawk.  Instead, he will be diving Scrooge McDuck style into a pool of $1,200,000 worth of gold doubloons.

Can't exactly blame the young man, as he grew up both a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals AND riding busses to the Mahoning Valley (Motto: We're basically Youngstown!).  Denton will likely be sent to Rookie Ball or the State College Spikes of the New York Penn League where he will be creepily showered with praise by aging defensive coordinators and/or James Franklin.
