In 2014, the Commodores weren't just the best team in the nation on the baseball diamond; they also led the Southeastern Conference in the classroom as well. The NCAA released its latest batch of Academic Progress Rate (APR) data on Wednesday, and Vanderbilt remains on the top of the SEC mountain when it comes to graduating its student-athletes.

The Commodores led the league in the academic benchmark in both football and baseball while finishing in the top five when it came to men's basketball. The APR is a measure of how many students in a specific sport graduated or were on track to graduate within a six-year window of enrolling. If that student-athlete leaves school early via transfer or to play professionally, the APR instead counts whether or not that pupil was in good academic standing before departing. Every student with an athletic scholarship is recorded in a program's score.

Only Florida basketball could claim a perfect score of 1,000 among men's major sports last season. Teams that score lower than 930 on the APR are subject to NCAA penalties. This did not apply to any SEC programs in the 2013-14 school year - though Arkansas and Mississippi State came close.

Here's how the APR rates broke down across the league in the three major men's sports.
