We got a good one y'all. Yeah, we weren't given a gift regional like LSU (again), but we didn't earn it so I guess I can't complain. If we manage to get out of the regional, we get the winner of the Illinois regional. Frankly, I'm just thrilled we didn't get Louisville for once. If you ask me, we got a superb regional considering we don't have a national seed.
Here's the bracket!
VU04's Take:
Listen, we didn't get a National Seed, but everything else went about as well as it could have.
1) Matched up with Illinois instead of Louisville (and they easily could have sent us to Louisville again) for Supers.
2) Our Region is easier than average (though just slightly). #2 Radford, #3 Indiana, #4 Lipscomb. Indiana has been pretty damned good recently, but they lost their coach toASU and their best player to the pros. We’ll give you more in depth previews later, but this is a good draw. A really good draw. Not LSU good (they always get the easiest region), but good.
3) Illinois did not get a difficult #2 or #3 seed, so if they lose, Notre Dame or Wright State will be coming to Nashville, and that should not frighten anyone.
In short, I’m happy. Pretty damned happy.
