Join the Anchor of Gold Bowl Pick'em Today!

Assert your football dominance over the Vanderbilt community.

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

College football Christmas, it turns out, runs pretty much in line with real Christmas. Once we crest the midway point in December, it's saturated every piece of your very being.

This year's bowl season starts on December 19th with a vaunted Gildan New Mexico Bowl matchup between Arizona and New Mexico. It runs through January 11th when the two best teams in the nation will battle for a national championship. That's 41 games of season-ending madness to help distract you from Luke Kornet's MCL injury and bridge the gap between Hanukkah and the start of college baseball season.

Now, you can use those three glorious weeks to prove that you're smarter than the rest of us at Anchor of Gold. Join our bowl pick'em and show everyone how much you know about college football and earn a place on the fantasy leaderboard at the AoG headquarters (which may or may not exist). All you have to do is choose the winner for each game this postseason, applying a sliding scale of points for each contest based on how confident you are that your pick will be the victor.

For our picks, we use Sofa Champs, the only bowl pick'em site out there designed by two Vanderbilt graduates. That way, you know that a) it's good and b) several bottles of whiskey were poured into the writing of the website code. There's no entry fee, no password, all you have to do is follow this link:

If you've played with us at Sofa Champs before, then all you have to do is log in, stamp your picks, and then you're set. If not, you'll have to sign up first, but that's easy and there's no spam or annoying confirmation emails associated with joining.

Is there a prize? Probably not. Only the feeling of superiority that comes when you finish in first place and I languish somewhere down around 23rd. Still, it's a fun way to add an extra dimension to bowl season, and a great excuse to burn 15 minutes studying college football at work.
