There's a whole slate of solid conference matchups this Saturday - Georgia/Florida, USC/Cal, and Ole Miss/Auburn, to name a few - but there's only one showdown that features two ranked teams. One of those teams is...Temple.
#21 Temple will host #9 Notre Dame in a game that should gauge whether or not the Owls can actually play Cinderella this fall. Temple started out the season strongly with wins over Penn State and Cincinnati, but a weak AAC schedule has left them searching for a legitimizing win. In their last five weeks, they've beaten UMass, Charlotte, Tulane, Central Florida, and East Carolina. Getting past the Fighting Irish would mean a likely spot in the top 15 and a signature win for the BCS rankings.
Things aren't nearly as meaningful acrss the rest of the NCAA football landscape. #5 TCU already scorched West Virginia. #14 Oklahoma gets 0-infinity Kansas. Undefeated Iowa plays 2-5 Maryland, but they'll probably still lose anyway.
Best Game: #15 Michigan at Minnesota. Ignore the tremendous sadness of Jerry Kill's retirement. You know his players are going to rally around their now-departed coach, especially at home. They are going to take it to the Wolverines, and even if they lose this should be an emotionally-charged, physical, and exciting game.
Worst Game: Idaho at New Mexico State. The nation's #151 ranked team visits #196. This is like watching hepatitis A wrestle hepatitis B inside Pamela Anderson's liver.
