With a final four list of Stanford, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, and Cal-Berkeley, it's clear that Frank Buncom IV values academics as much as he does athletics. On Wednesday, the four-star recruit will publicly announce where he'll be playing football in 2015.
The 6'2", 190 pound Buncom is a sought-after prospect who is rated as the 131st-best athlete in his class by Rivals.com. The high-octane defensive back has the potential to play both cornerback and safety. His size and ability to learn on the fly should make him an instant contributor at the NCAA level. That's something that would be a major asset for a young Commodore secondary that struggled through some growing pains in 2014.
However, they'll have to fend off some of the Big Five's best academic schools to lure him. Many analysts have Stanford as the heavy favorite for Buncom's services. While Vandy certainly has a shot to bring the talented San Diegan to Nashville, it would be a happy upset if Derek Mason were able to secure a verbal commit from the four-star defender.
We'll have the live stream of Frank Buncom IV's college decision here starting at 2pm CST. You can catch his commitment in the media player below. We've also cleared out the comments section so you can remark about how Vandy either got screwed or just reloaded their secondary at the bottom of the page.
