Vanderbilt mens basketball unveiled their 2014-2015 non-conference schedule, and the Commodores will have a few weeks to prep before diving in to a challenging slate.
Vandy will start the season with three games against Division II and III opponents before hosting Nashville foes Lipscomb and Tennessee State at Memorial Gym. Soon after, they'll head to New York City for a preseason tournament and stare down a slate of solid teams from mid- and high-major conferences.
Kevin Stallings could play as many as three teams who finished 2014 in the top 25, depending on how the Barclays Center Classic shakes out. The 'Dores could play Virginia (#10) on a neutral court in Brooklyn and have games scheduled at home vs. Baylor (#19) and on the road at Saint Louis (#25). Additional showdowns with Purdue and Georgia Tech will guarantee this team four games against opponents from major conferences.
And two against Ivy League teams. NERD BATTLES ABOUND.
Here's how the full schedule looks. The 'Dores will open up SEC play at home against Auburn on January 6, 2015.
