College World Series Final Gamethread: Vanderbilt at Virginia for the NCAA Title

Vanderbilt and Virginia square off in the final game of 2014 to crown a national champion. Will the Commodores snap out of their pitching funk and claim their first-ever men's national title? Or will the Cavs come out on top to fulfill their preseason prophecy?

What a dick.
What a dick.

Huey Lewis, wise man that he is, said it best: this is it. Vanderbilt and Virginia meet for a third time with the NCAA Mens Baseball Championship on the line. The Cavaliers will be the home team and the prohibitive favorites after outhitting the Commodores 28-11 over the last two games. Vandy will turn to a mishmash of talented pitchers to get them through this one, with Carson Fulmer, Brian Miller, Tyler Ferguson, Adam Ravenelle, Hayden Stone, and others set to throw strikes against a daunting UVA offense. The Cavs will return fire with starter Josh Sborz and two relievers - Artie Lewicki and Nick Howard - who have yet to allow a run in Omaha.

Could tonight's matchup finally give us the pitching duel we were promised? Or will these teams score runs in defiance of TD Ameritrade Park's expansive fences and wild-corralling layout? Follow along with us in the comments below.
