Vanderbilt's road to the College World Series Finals just got a bit rougher. The Commodores will be without starting third baseman Xavier Turner, who was declared ineligible due to a so-far unspecified violation of NCAA rules.
Turner had been batting .333 with one RBI and three steals in two College World Series games so far. He batted .284 on the season while locking down a spot in the middle of the Vanderbilt batting order. He will be replaced byTyler Campbell at third base. This will be Campbell's second start of the season, and 15th appearance this year. The sophomore is batting .133 on the season (2-15) with 1 2B, 5 runs, and 2 RBI.
More on this when the smoke clears...
