Preseason NCAA Basketball Coaches' Poll: #1 Kentucky, #7 Florida Rep the SEC

New, 79 comments

SEC Basketball fans are hoping that the league's quality at the top of the top 25 polls will help people ignore the lack of quantity beyond Kentucky and Florida. Those two teams are the only conference members in the Coaches' top 37 teams.

NCAA Coaches love Kentucky and Florida in 2014-15. The rest of the SEC? They're not so sure about those guys.

The top-ranked Wildcats and #7 Gators were the only two teams from the Southeastern Conference to earn a spot on the USA Today Preseason Coaches' Poll Top 25. Arkansas (#38) was the only other SEC team to earn votes.

Kentucky and Florida are currently the only two ranked teams that grace Vanderbilt's 2014-15 schedule, but they'll have the opportunity to face #8 Virginia should both teams win their opening round game in the Barclays Center Classic. The 'Dores will also play two teams that received votes from the coaches: Arkansas and Baylor (#47).
