Brandt is one of five golfers who can win the FedEx Cup by winning the tournament today and was tied for the lead coming into the last round. He has since taken the lead on the 3rd hole.

Basically, for those who don't follow the golfs, the FedEx Cup is a points championship in golf and the winner gets $10 million. Regular season points set the opening rankings for four FedEx Cup tournaments, then over the 1st 3 FedEx Cup events, the field is whittled down to 30 for the final tournament, the Tour Championship.

Prior to the Tour Championship, the points are reset according to standings such that any player in the field mathematically could win the cup, and any of the top 5 in the standings can win simply by winning the Tour Championship.

Coming into the last round, Brandt is one of three of those top 5 in close striking distance, with Rory McIlroy and Tiger also in solid position. Brandt either needs to win today or finish several spots ahead of Rory to win the FedEx Cup.
