Football season hasn't started yet, but James Franklin may have already set a Vanderbilt record - this time for most captains on a single squad. The second-year coach announced that six new players would join Walker May and Jordan Rodgers as the team's leaders in 2012.
The roles will fall on three players from both the offense and defense, along with two special teams captains. The eight players wearing "C" letters will be:

Congratulations to all the players who were honored today. Today's press conference also unveiled the team's first official depth chart of the 2012 season.
