Good/Bad/Neutral news everybody. I'm leaving Anchor of Gold.
Sorta.
I'll be taking a new writing role over at the brand new Nashville Sports Hub, a startup founded by the guys who also brought you On The Forecheck. I'll be doing mostly the same thing I do here, covering Vanderbilt athletics until the academic season winds down and then finding random failures to write about otherwise. I've already got a few articles posted over there. I'll be focusing my efforts there full-time starting next week.
That doesn't mean I'll be leaving this wonderful community that I've called home for the past three years, though. I'll still be here to write occasionally, and to moderate and manage things. Of course, you'll still have KJIV, The Goche, VandyImport, and others here to cover the 'Dores. I've also got a few cool things lined up for next week as AoG exclusives, and they involve Earl Bennett, so keep your eyes open for that.
I'll cross-post a few things at first, but I don't want to be the guy who pimps his own stuff too much, so when you see fewer and fewer posts coming from me, you'll know why. You'll still be able to get to me on twitter @TrainIsland and I'll be as active as ever in the comments over at NSH. Basically, if you want to get in touch to yell at me, ridicule me, or point out my many spelling and grammatical errors, you know how to do it.
I want to thank KingJames for giving me the opportunity to cover the 'Dores here, and I want to recommend that anyone else who is thinking of writing to give it a shot in the FanPosts. It's been a fun three years, and watching the site grow into a full fledged community has been inspiring. It has been great to converse with fellow Vandy fans here, especially after moving out of Nashville and into cities where people don't understand what a Commodore is ("it's a bird, right?").
I expect that to continue at the Nashville Sports Hub, and hopefully you guys and gals will have the time in your days to add another sports blog to your daily reading. Be sure to come by and check us out. But totally keep checking out Anchor of Gold as well, because it's also great and I'll still be around.
So, in closing, Nashville Sports Hub, Nashville Sports Hub, Nashville Sports Hub.
But really, thanks for reading. I hope to see you guys at the next stop. Even the Tennessee fans.
Anchor down,
Christian
