The #KempNames twitter trend that marvelously swept over THE ENTIRE INTERNETS last night may have ended before it even truly got rolling. (It was one of those, "I'll always remember where I was" moments...) While I may have stumbled onto something remarkable last night, it must be said that Vanderbilt freshman outfielder and leadoff-hitter extraordinaire, Tony Kemp, despite his diminutive height and in only a weekend of action, has already shown himself truly to be bigger than any one nickname. Even a nickname as pure as this one:
So, logically, he would be Tony "Clark" Kemp, "The Man of Steal." RT @ex_o: Solid. RT @anchorofgold what about "Man of Steal"? #KempNames
As nicknames are wont to do, this one is gaining traction, quickly...
And here's my Top 25 Tracker, a detailed recap of opening weekend for the Top 25 teams: http://bit.ly/dTWcfR
@aaronfitt "Fr. OF Tony 'Clark' Kemp, 'The Man of Steal' (4-for-10, 3 SB) sparked the offense..." FIXED. You're welcome. :)
He is faster than a speeding bullet. RT @anchorofgold: Fr. OF Tony 'Clark' Kemp, 'The Man of Steal' (4-for-10, 3 SB) sparked the offense...
Tony "Clark" Kemp, Vanderbilt's "Man of Steal." Welcome to the show AND your first Clu Haywood "How's your wife and my kids?" Destroyer of Pitchers Award, Tony. Major props to NewYorkDore (@ex_o) for getting the ball rolling on twitter and on VandySports.com's baseball board.
As you can tell, Aaron Fitt is a big fan:
Fast, small, energetic, patient--Tony Kemp is a mortal lock for all-Fitt team. Just singled in a run and stole another bag; it's 3-0 Vandy.
