Name of the Week should be up later today. Until, might I suggest you scroll down to NYDore's (@ex_o) excellent fall VU Baseball preview?
Frankly, I expected more. These were barely insulting at all.
Through the first two games, Mississippi's vaunted "Landsharks" defense has disappeared. In every game for the past two years a Mississippi defensive player would make a hard tackle, force a fumble or grab an interception, leap to his feet and then put a hand up sideways against his forehead like a fin.
Cole, the team's leading receiver last season, did not have a catch against LSU and has a mere 15 receiving yards through two games. The Kentucky native was asked if he found his stats troubling.
"Absolutely, but what can you do?" Cole answered. "Keep going, I guess. Hopefully, I can get a little more involved as the season goes … or a lot more, rather. But we'll see. I don't really know, but it's been frustrating to say the least."
On a new mascot for Ole Miss:
"I'm not going to get into those things, you know I'm not politically correct."
