The Red Raiders could be in trouble after the NCAA alleged that 234 text messages were sent to recruits between 2007 and 2009 - a violation. It's not a huge misstep, but it is an instance of former Head Coach Mike Leach breaking a pretty cut and dry (albeit recent) rule about communicating with recruits. If this information was known by insiders in the past month or earlier, it may have had some effect on Leach's coaching prospects - including his lack of inclusion in Vandy's HC search.
Knowing this, would you still want Leach over Franklin? It's a(nother) black eye for his reputation, but his resume and success are still pretty impressive. I'd still (hypothetically) welcome him to Nashville - but he's burning through a lot of the goodwill that the Michael Crabtree era brought him.
