Tennessean: Chris Boyd to Appear in Court Friday

Suspended Vanderbilt wide receiver Chris Boyd is due to appear in a Nashville courtroom this Friday for a discussion hearing. Boyd was charged with being an accessory after the fact in the rape scandal that has already seen four players dismissed from the university and one victim attempting to put her life back together. Neither Boyd's attorney nor the District Attorney had a comment on the case when contacted by the Tennessean last night.

Interesting article here regarding what paths this may take now with Chris Boyd. I find it interesting that you can get indicted for something as simple as saying "I'd delete that picture". However, the good news, justice wise, is that the DA will have to prove intent for a conviction. We all want justice done. It is possible this may get sorted out soon, given the details here.

Chase Garnham Added to the Lott Trophy Watch List

Vanderbilt linebacker Chase Garnham has been chosen as a potential candidate for the 2013 Lott IMPACT Award, which honors college football's defensive player of the year both on and off the field. Garnham, who has developed from athletic prospect into defensive leader in his time in Nashville, will lead a young linebacking corps this fall. He's one of five SEC defenders to be singled out by the Lott Award committee.
