While we were out doing our last second shopping this week, eating ham, and watching mediocre professional basketball, this Vanderbilt coaching staff has been putting in WORK. On Monday, Elijah Hamilton, a CB from Roswell, GA received an offer from Vanderbilt. Christmas day, Sean Auwae dropped the anchor, committing to the Commodores after recently decommitting from Jim Mora Jr. and UCLA. Saturday afternoon, Hamilton decided it was time: He announced the decision on Twitter.

Hamilton is a 6-foot-1, 190 pound CB who played for Blessed Trinity Catholic in Roswell, GA. Hamilton just recently started to gain national attention, and his offer list could still grow as NSD 2016 approaches. He chose the Commodores over offers from Army, Navy, and Cornell, as well as interest from Minnesota and Georgia Tech. According to 247Sports, Hamilton is rated as a three-star recruit and is ranked the 82nd corner in the country. He is a Top-900 player nationally.
Hamilton joins a loaded 2016 Class of players capable of playing in the secondary, joining Joejuan Williams, Zaire Jones, Austin Quillen, and Frank Coppet.
As the days until February 5th grow smaller and smaller, this class is nearly complete. On Tuesday, we will take a look at ten targets available to finish the class, including local athlete Nate Johnson, who is currently committed to the University of Michigan.
