It turns out that Kevin Stallings and company weren't done with the 2014 recruiting class as Vandy got another commitment today from Jeff Roberson out of Houston (TX) Kinkaid School.
At 6'6", 210 pounds, depending on whom you ask, Roberson is either a small forward or a power forward. On video, well, he looks like a small forward to me, with a decent jumpshot and some nice hops:
Team 2 #299 Jeff Roberson 2014 6'6 200lbs The Kinkaid School TX (via primepreps)
He's a three-star recruit according to Rivals; ESPN also has him as a three-star recruit and ranks him as the #47 SF in the country. 247sports.com says he's a power forward, and also a three-star recruit; he's the #68 PF in the country according to their ratings and the #78 PF according to their composite ratings.
On tape, Roberson looks like he could be a nice find. According to the Houston Chronicle, he averaged 24.2 ppg for Kinkaid this season. Roberson also had offers from Davidson, Harvard, Rice, and St. Louis, so at the very least that list suggests that he's probably a good student.
Assuming Kedren Johnson is back in school next year, that gives Vandy 11 scholarship players for 2014-15. The depth issues that have plagued the team this season likely won't be present if that number holds up.
