Don't lose.

Losing is bad idea. Winning is a good idea.

by Aaron Novick on Feb 8, 2012 8:12 PM EST reply actions

if I had to guess

I would say it looks like Festus will play.

by KingJamesIV on Feb 8, 2012 8:38 PM EST via iPhone app reply actions

Something I read today made it sound like he would play. We need the win.

by vandyjl on Feb 8, 2012 8:42 PM EST up reply actions

Perfect Scenario:

We win big! Click on all cylinders and go into Saturday with confidence.

by DoreFan15 on Feb 8, 2012 8:46 PM EST reply actions

At a bare minimum

we need to stay in the top 4 of the conference for our first round bye. The 2 Ls last week sure did close the gap on us.

Taylor

good start

Also, I hate ESPN3

by Aaron Novick on Feb 8, 2012 9:06 PM EST reply actions

Supposedly that empty.

My best guess is that no one is there because they are all studying so they can go to the women’s game tomorrow to get priority seating for Saturday.

by doredarling on Feb 8, 2012 9:07 PM EST up reply actions

Exactly.

I have two tests and am sacrificing it by being out here. Making us goto Wbb is absolutely ridiculous. Section maybe 20% full at under 16

But it’s been a while since he’s been hitting them. And that just isn’t his game.

by Pope Vanderbilt on Feb 8, 2012 9:38 PM EST up reply actions

Does anyone know?

Why ESPN3 doesn’t offer HD streaming? I have 25mb/s download speed and really feel that, in 2012, I should get a better picture. I understand the need to downconvert for folks with low bandwidth but for God’s sake, I feel like I’m watching an Impressionist painting of the game and it’s on all four quality bars.

Is this a technical thing or a rights issue or a bandwidth/money issue?

by Andrew D. Smith on Feb 8, 2012 9:31 PM EST reply actions

I mean all five bars for quality. As many bars as there are.

by Andrew D. Smith on Feb 8, 2012 9:31 PM EST up reply actions

I think in this case, it's technical

They’re just porting through the CSS feed, which obviously is terrible.

Since CSS isn’t showing it in HD even on TV, neither can ESPN3.

by parlagi on Feb 8, 2012 9:35 PM EST up reply actions

I didn’t realize that this, or any other sporting contest, was ever broadcast in SD only anymore. Does that mean you can get HD on ESPN3 when you’re watching a game that’s on ESPN?

Okay, second streaming video question

Why can’t they sell ads, either by combining the viewership figures of streaming with the (much larger) figures for broadcast or just by selling them separately?

The numbers obviously aren’t that big, but eyes are eyes, and I’d bet that on a per-eye basis, the folks who watch over the Internet are more valuable because they are younger.

Top three pick?

I’m a huge JJ fan, but he will not be a top three (or top ten) pick next year unless he massively improves his ballhandling and defense – unless the NBA is looking to complete its murder of the Hornets. This year, I doubt he goes in the first round. His only shot is that a team thinks his potential as a sharp-shooter outweighs his liabilities elsewhere (especially on defense).

by Vandy Dan on Feb 9, 2012 12:02 PM EST up reply actions

That would be great

But he’s gonna have to have a monster year next year to make it worth his while. There’ll be a strong draft class in 2013.
