Pretty sparse with ten minutes to tip. The Belle Meade section might have larger numbers right now. Hope the students show. We need a solid crowd.

Doredarling!
As the firstrow link isn’t currently working (though it might not start until the game starts, since it isn’t actually a televised game), I need your magic memphis station link (which one of these days I will actually bookmark).
keep me posted y'all
no vid or aud for me

Link #3 on First Row is working for me
Tins keeps the streak alive.
I like Tennessee and Vanderbilt. There aren't many like me, and they're probably better off for it.
I had problems with KWAM too, but figured it was just my PC
1370 AM Chattanooga is working though: http://tunein.com/radio/Fox-Sports-Radio-AM-1370-s28203/
Firstrow link is up and working
Is this game on any channel in Nashville?
No, and it's a travesty
A million TV stations on cable and satellite, and no one bothers.
Meanwhile 8-12 UNC-Wilmington vs. 0-22 Towson is on ESPN3.
That's nuts
Thanks, I was wasting a little time trying random stations hoping there was an error with the channel guide.

True
But Fes hurt a bit, Jenkins started 0-3 (just hit), Taylor bricking layups, and MTSU shooting 60%
I like Tennessee and Vanderbilt. There aren't many like me, and they're probably better off for it.
Fes needs one touch every possession.

Good to see Fes hitting FTs
6-6 to start the game.
I like Tennessee and Vanderbilt. There aren't many like me, and they're probably better off for it.
And just when we got close
A 3 and a good move in the delayed break has them up 6.

66% for MTSU???
Come on guys. Just pretend they are bottom half SEC team.
I currently star in the new MTV3 series,

MTSU's strength is scoring inside the arc (55% for the season)
They only shoot 28% from 3. If they keep hitting those, we’ll be in trouble. At least the fouls are piling up for them. We absolutely need to hit our free throws in this game if they keep shooting like this.
vandy needs to stick to the drives
MTSU can’t handle Vandy at the rim. Exploit that until it opens up the three-point shooting.

or does Kedren look a lot like Jermaine Beal?
Kedren is an amalgam ...
of Jermaine Beal and Shan Foster. It’s kinda weird. His game is a lot like Sophomore year Beal, though … if he develops his outside shot as well as Beal did, he’ll be an absolute force in two years.

We're playing well in every facet of the game....
Except defense. 7 offensive rebounds, 12-13 FT shooting, 2 turnovers. Gotta give credit to MTSU, though. They’re shooting at an abnormally high rate, especially from behind the arc.
We're still outrebounding them 16-13 overall.

Truth. Just trying to find something somewhat positive.

I'm only listening.
Is the D really that bad? I got the feeling MTSU was hitting a lot of contested shots. But it is surprising to give up so many first half points. We’ve held 4 of the 6 SEC teams we’ve played to less than 20 in the first.

Anyone think LSU takes down UK today?
UK has been a little sketchy on the road this season, and LSU will be the best team they’ve faced on the road in the SEC thus far. I can definitely see it happening.
I don't see it.
LSU is average. KY is playing with too much confidence and they can win in too many ways. They can win ugly on the road. I think they’re biggest test will be Feb. 11 and then at Florida.

Getting sick of very time MTSU has possession and Fisher says, “…for three,” it is followed by, “It’s good.” I mean, can this be sustained?

Could be a good chance for our guys to face their demons. Beat a very good team from an inferior conference. Important psychological game for later.

No matter who they are playing
This is a good test for them… How to win when you don’t blow the game out in the first half (see UGA, Miami).
I just hope they get an at-large if they trip up in the Sun Belt Tournament.
It’d be a shame if they stayed home while the SWAC still gets a team in. (Seriously guys, it’s January 28 and you don’t have a team with a winning record yet? Drop to Division II already.)
Three Point
We never learn. When you sit back and throw up 20 three point shots it is never going to be good unless you are red hot. We should have learned that against Miss St but apparently haven’t.
we rely on it so much now
It’s part of the team’s identity. It sucks cause it’s one of those you’re either hot or you’re not and when you’re not, you need to have a Plan B. Which we don’t really have.

Kickig
Is illegal, with the penalty assessed on the clock. Time, boundaries, fouling, traveling, double dribbling, goaltending, and kicking are pretty much the only rules. Penalized with points, opportunities for points, or possession change. Kicking usually happens at the fault of the defense, so penalty assessed by theclock.

This will be a solid confidence builder for the tourney. Beat a very good team from a non-major conference who was shooting lights out. Stepped up in crunch time.

Yes
“a very good team from a non-major conference who was shooting lights out.”
That is the definition of the kind of team we’ve lost to in the 1st round of the NCAA’s the last 3 times. We responded very, very well. Loved the energy of defense in the 2nd half, especially at the end of the game.

Nice work
From six and a half minutes left and down by 3, we outscore them 19-9. We made 5 layups, 9-10 free throws, 0-0 from three. Good basketball from both teams.

That had a first-round Tourney feel to it…and we got the W. Really, really huge. I thought we played a really good game, and so did MTSU.

Quote of the game
A MTSU fan was sitting in front of me and I happened to snipe a txt he was sending. The text read “Memorial Magic is equivalent to Memorial Referee’s”. After a made basket and an and 1 I muttered “Thats some Memorial magic right there”. He left at the next TV timeout and was never seen again.
