Vanderbilt Baseball: 2012 recruit Chris Harvey enrolls a year early
Baseball America broke the news (via twitter) that Anchor of Gold, @VUHawkTalk and VandySports.com had been sitting on (at the request of VU): 2012 Top 60 catcher and Perfect Game All-American Chris Harvey has graduated a year early from Germantown Academy in Norristown, Pennsylvania and enrolled at Vanderbilt.
Most importantly for Commodore baseball fans, there will be no 2012 MLB Draft signing day induced stress (with him, at least), as he will not be eligible to be drafted until 2014.
The six-foot four-inch, 220-pound right-hander will compete for playing time with RS Sr. Drew Fann and So. Spencer Navin.
Well folks, the mystery recruit has finally been unveiled by Baseball America. Chris Harvey reported to campus this weekend.
At the request of Harvey and the coaching staff, @VandySportsCom, @AnchorOfGold and this twit feed withheld the news for the last 6 weeks.
Harvey is an instant impact recruit, coming off a PG All American game appearance and should push Drew Fann and Spencer Navin for PT.
Here's a video of Chris Harvey hitting dingers.

Excellent news
Tim Corbin is fast becoming the John Calipari (love him or hate him, the dude can recruit) of baseball in that everyone wants to play for Corbin and Vandy! Great to see this kind of success here at Vandy – now to work on that whole football thing!
