So we're officially the #3 seed from the East. That means we'll play the lowest seed from the West, LSU. We'll be playing the late game (10 EST/9 CST) on Thursday, and if we win we'd play Miss. St. the #2 seed in the West, also in the late game.
And as luck would have it, we're 0-5 this season against the teams we'd possibly play in the semis. How cool is that!
Complete bracket, after the jump.
Also, if anyone knows anything about the ticket situation, and if anyone is planning to make the trip, let us know your plans in the comments. So the first day (in order of game time):
- W5 Auburn vs. E4 UGA
- E6 USC vs. W3 Ole Miss
- E5 UT vs. W4 Arkansas
- W6 LSU vs. E3 Vandy
So that's cool, we play LSU, a team we beat by a bunch on the road, just the other day. Good grief let's handle that.
Friday it plays out like this:
- Aub/UGA vs. W1 Alabama
- USC/Ole Miss vs. E2 UK
- UT/Ark vs. E1 UF
- LSU/Vandy vs. W2 Miss. St.
That looks familiar. Miss St. is the team everyone has been concerned about having the possibility of going off in the tournament. I mean, not that it would really be better to play Bama either.
So for the Semis it will be:
- Bama/UGA/Aub vs. UK/Ole Miss/USC
- UF/UT/Ark vs. Miss St./Vandy/LSU
The moral of the story is, get a damn bye. Look at UK's road compared to ours. Ugh. If we get past LSU and Miss. St. we get to play UF, UT or Arkansas against whom we were 0-5. Terrific!
I'm sure as the week goes on, someone will follow up with some actual analysis. But hope this helps for now.
