LaFonte Thorogood to Running Back - Does That Means There's a QB Spot for Gunner Kiel?
As usual, Moral-Victory! has a great read about LaFonte Thorogood requesting to switch positions from quarterback to running back for the 2012 season. Vandy is in great shape at both positions, with Jordan Rodgers, redshirt freshman Josh Grady, and Wyoming transfer Austyn Carta-Samuels all lined up to take practice snaps next year. Thorogood would join a backfield that includes two All-SEC tailbacks (Warren Norman and Zac Stacy), a top 100 recruit in Brian Kimbrow, and players like Jerron Seymour and Mitchell Hester all vying for touches next season. That's a lot of talent for the boys on West End. More interestingly, does Thorogood's switch signal the potential arrival of five-star quarterback recruit Gunner Kiel? Kiel has visited Nashville no fewer than two times this fall and was in attendance for Vandy's bowl announcement party.
