For the second time in four years, Vanderbilt is going to a bowl game. Much like in 2008, they won't have to travel far.

Coach James Franklin and the Commodores accepted a bid to play in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee on December 31st. The game is the team's first postseason action since a 16-14 win in the Music City bowl in 2008.

Vandy's opponent will be unveiled at 7:30 central time. Official university coverage can be found here. Speculation has suggested the the 'Dores could end up facing Cincinnati or a similar opponent out of the Big East. We'll update this post as more news rolls in.

UPDATE: ESPN confirms that Cincinnati will be the Commodores' opponent. Cincinnati went 9-3 this season with wins over North Carolina State, Louisville, Pittsburgh, and Connecticut.
