Vandy-Longwood: an EXTREMELY poorly researched preview
Or, more accurately put, "cut and pasted from the Longwood Athletics website":
The Lancers of ninth-year head coach Mike Gillian are 4-6 overall for its second-best start to a season since beginning the Division I scheduling with 2004-05. Senior Antwan Carter|St. Petersburg, Fla. (St. Petersburg) (16.5 points, 8.9 rebounds), along with classmate Jeremiah Bowman|Washington, D.C. (Harcum JC) (14.2 points, 5.6 assists), continue to lead the team this season.
Look, let's be honest, this is supposed to be a milk run. This was intended to be a breather for the new kids to get some reps. This, in short, is a gimme.
This team doesn't have a gimme anymore. We need a win, a resounding thumping, and we need to get this squad on track. If THIS game gets tight, it may be time to get VBK on the phone and start making amends.
Hippity Huz? HIPPITY HUZ.

If this game is close
I’m not opposed to ousting Stallings mid-season
I would not be surprised
if this game were in fact relatively close. There is no reason at this point to think that we would have gotten significantly better from Saturday, which saw a very disjointed team.
At the same time, I believe that ousting CKS at this point would generally result in a disaster, not just for this season, but for seasons to come. VU BB fans have a tendency to tremendously overestimate where we should be in the CBB world compared to the rest of the CBB world, and most see CKS as the most successful coach in modern history (which says a lot about our overall history). Overall, we would have (by any objective measure) a mediocre program but a fan base that expects a program that is on a level that is just below UK/Duke/UNC.
At this point, the best tact to take is to be patient, and see if things turn around as they work Ezeli into the rotation and get some guys healthy. Any expectations that we have for this season are based completely on the teams and players that CKS has brought in himself. To say that he should be let go after 11 games is not something that you are going to see from this administration.

VCDW doesn't strike me as a hit-the-ejector-seat guy.
But at this point, I hope he’s at least starting to look at possible list of names for the offseason. Next year is going to be a rebuilding year from hell already – if we’re going to make a change, the move might be to take all our medicine at once and get on with it….

Our treatment of CKS and CBJ
has definitely affected our ability to hold on to Corbin as well as our ability to hold onto Franklin.
The scenario where CKS leaves this season is a very bad one, to be sure. As in disaster of 2003 proportions bad.

I assume the VBK thing was a joke.
Or that you really don’t remember the VBK years. If CKS had followed up 2003 with a similar season, I would have agreed with you, but you have to remember that VBK’s entire tenure was a complete disaster in terms of having any hope of making multiple tournament appearances, much less beat an actual good team.
Oh, I was there.
Nice guy. Looked good behind a podium. Couldn’t coach his way out of a paper sack. The highlight of the VBK years was camping out for Kentucky fix in 1996 that got me the greatest quote of all time from some anonymous frat guy…
ME: (looks around Memorial concourse) Playstation, refrigerators, Sega Genesis, microwave…this is some kind of camping.
FRAT GUY: This is Vandy, son, we may camp out but we NEVER rough it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Longwood scores a few
Their offense looks reasonably competent, and they just scored 110 against VMI (of course everyone does).
But that defense…they’ve given up 85+ points in half their games. Massey has it rated #1165 in the country (every division combined). They’re 450 spots behind Cumberland and Columbia State, for God’s sake.
Massey projects a 90-70 win, and Sagarin projects a 30-point win. If the offense struggles tonight, then I’ll worry.
No periscope
Sorry for the lack of postgame report and periscope. I’m still recovering from the concussion I suffered facepalming myself so many times in a row during the Indiana State game.
Front row seat = I GET TO SEE A MAGNIFIED VERSION OF HOW POORLY WE PLAYED. We went to a Christmas party right after the game. Let me tell you I was extremely pleasant company during that party…
