Vanderbilt bar in California?

Hey guys.  I'm hoping there are some Vanderbilt alumni here who reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.  I was wondering if there is a Vanderbilt bar in the city.  There seems to be every other school bar there, including mine.  If not an official bar, where do you guys go to watch Vandy games?  I'm asking for my gf, who is a Vandy alum and wants to watch the games with her own kind for a change rather than with me and my Nittany Lion brethren.  Thank a bunch guys.

I can't be much help

But I know we have a few readers/posters in the Bay Area that watch the games. Hopefully they’ll see this post and be able to let you know where to go.

I’m actually dealing with the same problem – I just moved up to Madison, WI, so I feel your girlfriend’s pain in trying to find bars that will actually put on a Vandy game.

Pete's Tavern in China Basin

…has sort of become the default Vandy place. The local alumni club actually tried to set up a formal location somewhere in the Mission last year, but it didn’t work out very well. Basketball has always been at Pete’s (including the whiskey-soaked upset of then #1 UT in ‘08) and it’s worked out nicely; there’s usually something there anytime VU plays UT or UK. Pete Osborne himself is a hell of a guy (big big big Cal Band booster, which is how he first came to my attention via Wife, but he has welcomed the Dores with open arms).

The other for-sure Vanderbilt place is Bourbon and Branch, but the absence of televisions makes it a little tougher for strategic sports purposes. ;]
