Go 'Dores!

As I just tweeted: This week I’ve grown in appreciation of how bad ISU is. Still sticking to my “high variance” position tho.

Therefore it’s certain I will jinx us and we’re out in two.

At work, and extremely nervous

In the words of Han Solo, I have a bad feeling about this…..

Just embrace the crapshoot

I have no doubt that we’re a better team than ILST but so what? It’s baseball.

by PhilipVU94 on Jun 4, 2010 2:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Agree with Joe.

Huge first out.

Also awesome, Joe Fisher on the Louisville webcast. I guess the home team gets the call?

by KingJamesIV on Jun 4, 2010 2:11 PM EDT reply actions

Dammit.

Dropped ball in the outfield…dropped ball at the plate?

2 Errors? One on Connor, one on Gio?

We’re going for the defensive allow cycle here: HBP, hit, walk, error

Oh good.

So I haven’t missed much.

Shitty.

Heh

Perverse incentive for a pitcher to be wild, I guess.

by PhilipVU94 on Jun 4, 2010 2:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Maybe I should be more emotional

As the beginning of a mess unfolds, I feel like I should react in much the way that the media seems to have decided the President should react to the oil spill fiasco. Show some emotion! Anything!

Meh…. I want us to win, badly, but not only is there nothing I can do to influence it. I truly believe that even our players can only influence it to a certain degree. All it takes is two bad days to be done. All it takes is one bad day to be in the loser’s bracket, fighting uphill and at a huge disadvantage vs. Louisville.

(Yeah, I know people died in the BP mess, but we use terms like disaster and train wreck to talk about sports.)

by PhilipVU94 on Jun 4, 2010 2:20 PM EDT reply actions

True

I wish that would happen. At least it would remind people that a short tourney doesn’t demonstrate shit.

by PhilipVU94 on Jun 4, 2010 2:24 PM EDT up reply actions

ISU's pitchers are garbage

If Vandy can’t get the bats going today, it’s going to be a very short tournament.

I was in the car

The radio cut out. I yelled at my radio. Connor dropped the ball. I yelled at the radio. Safely at the computer now…hoping I don’t have to yell too much more other than in joy!

Let me get this straight

You have a job that pays you while you’re watching VU baseball and you’re unhappy about it? :)

by PhilipVU94 on Jun 4, 2010 2:27 PM EDT up reply actions

One day

It’ll be getting paid TO watch Vandy baseball. But that’s wishful thinking. For this month, it’s about getting out of Indiana for a better job, although I have yet to breach the topic of watching baseball at work. It may be frowned upon.

Jim Joyce made a terrible call and kept a legitimately perfect game off the books. However, I’m ready for that story to die. Yes, it sucks that Galarraga can’t celebrate one of the rarest feats in baseball, but for people to be this up in arms calling for replay over the last out of a meaningless regular season game absolutely boggles my mind. If you had him in your pool to be today's hero

Go to the head of the class. And enjoy the payoff at 500:1 or whatever Vegas was offering on that prop bet.

BIG WIN.

RBI single by one of our pitches who was pinch hitting.

Vandy escapes.

It's about damn time.

And hey, we still have Sonny Gray.

by TennGuy on Jun 4, 2010 7:01 PM EDT reply actions

And Jack Armstrong. Both on the mound and at the plate.

...and a decimated bullpen. ;)

Still, good shape given that we expect him to stay in for a while.

Now Go Billikens!

We made the mistake of rooting for LSU in the SEC Tournament

But somehow I think that SLU’s three man team is a different story

Well, yeah

And I was happy when Santa Clara beat Arizona too, but all it got us was an agonizing loss to Temple. ;)

First of all, I agree that SLU is in no way as good as the theoretically 8th-best SEC team.

Secondly, I’m just pulling for the matchup that maximizes our chances. It’s cliche and all, but the team still has to perform.

Smart move by Corbin

Bring up a decent hitter who’s not looking to swing for the fences. I hope the rest of the guys learn something from Big Jack.
