Gameday outfit
I decided to go with the Vandy Intramurals shirt instead of the Brad Tinsley jersey, followed by the Vandy hoodie. Let’s see if it pays off.
I went with the usual work clothes (dress shirt, slacks, jacket) and my Vandy hat. Plan is to head to the bar at 2. If we lose, I’m calling it a day. If we win, I’m likely calling it a day.
I had the benefit of working remotely, so my appearance counts for nothing. Thankfully.

Omen?
Woke up this morning to find that one of my rival frats in undergrad had been kicked off campus. Why?
I’m not sure if this is a good sign, or a bad one.
Hmmm.
Personally, it would depend which frat it was, but if they were a rival…I say good sign.

I think you'll be ok
Have to think they’ll be more focused in the second half. 6 isn’t insurmountable.
Sad. Looks like tennesseans will only have one live option to watch grown men beat on each other april 17

I can't wait much longer.
It is like it is Christmas morning and someone is preventing me from going to look at what’s under the tree…
Damn
There goes one of my Sweet 16 teams. Thanks ND.
Alright
Time to ruin people’s “upset predictions”
Rebounding
I wish I could have picked against us because of rebounding alone. We are getting outrebounded by Murray fucking St.

I know that these other games are exciting...
…but I didn’t pay tuition at these schools. I want to see my ’dores.
Two words: sports bar.

Murray St.
Their D is all over us but we’re only getting the call part of the time…We need to go up strong and get the FT.
Somebody did a good job scouting us ...
blanket Jenkins and Beal, and take your chances with the forwards who won’t shoot.
Somebody else is cussing a lot right now.
Well, not where I wanted us to be at the half.....
but still a huge improvement over the Siena game

May need the 'Stache to take over
Can he grow it in 15 minutes?
We need to dominate this team in the post. Start getting the defensive boards. Pull away.
Fuck dominating. I’ll take holding them to an offensive board on every other possession instead of every one.

Come on guys
This team has a major in trailing at the half. Ogilvy comes back, Taylor gets the jitters yelled out of him, and Jenkins gets his giant stones taped to his leg for less wind resistance at halftime.
We’ll be ok.

I'm not doubting...
…I’ve just been on edge about this game since before our seed was even announced. The Siena game still hurts.
That's not good since you're there...
I was holding onto the hope that the bad feeling was just from seeing it on tv.
I actually don't feel too worried
We’re a much better team in the 2nd half, and that’s when the underdogs tend to collapse in March.
Thoughts from the first half
1. Murray State is quick. Their offense moves fast…at times faster than our defense gets back.
2. Great aggression for the ’Dores at the beginning. They need to continue to drive and get Murray in foul trouble…and get us to the line. Hopefully the 8-15 is a first half issue that is resolved in the second. At least we were getting opportunities.
3. Nevermind…the second half just came on. Go ’Dores.
Glue Guy
Our Glue Guy is coming undone. Walker is getting abused at both ends.
by Vandy Dan on Mar 18, 2010 3:51 PM EDT via mobile reply actions
Walker's not helping.
God help him, he’s lost on offense. They don’t respect him, and are staying on the other guys.
I think we need Tchiengang and Ogilvy in there together. Let Beal create.
Seriously, I don't remember us being this tight ...
get the damn ball to Ogilvy. He may be our only hope (with the scattered three from JJ).
they have really start to chew up the shot clock
Didn’t get a good shot that time so hopefully that will be our advantage
Buckets!

I realize I misspelled Festus, with fetus
but why a freudian moment? I can’t begin to imagine what you think that “slip” means.
I love this team.
But because of them, I may not live past my twenties. I’ve lost many years of life this season.
Please, God.

Just need one defensive rebound
For some reason we never quite got them when we needed them this year.
6 of one, half-dozen of the other.
Both suck more than I can express.
May we never get a 4 seed again.
So say we all
I’m done with getting a 4. All it does is make sphincters tight.
At least after Siena I could rave out about how they folded and lose my mind….this just sucks donkey bricks. I don’t even know what a donkey brick is. But it sucks.

The loss hurts the same. It’s the constant highlights that will hurt more. At least AJ will make One Shining Moment – falling on his ass as Murray St. hits the dagger.

Glad I did not make the trip
Brutal ending. Can’t blame the defense on that last shot. We had chances, but could not put away Murray St.
by Vandy Dan on Mar 18, 2010 4:48 PM EDT via mobile reply actions
Hated it for Shan too. Hopefully, it won’t happen again next year.
This one hurts a lot less than Georgetown. I think Murray St. Could have won this by more if they had not tried to choked the clock away. Worked in the end.
What did we shoot at the line? 60 percent?

Nothing could top the G-Town loss.
This sucked, but the team could have done better, could have won it. Against the Town, we earned it but just got jobbed.
Good on Murray State. They deserve to advance.
If they beat Butler
I will feel much better.

Yep
At least it doesn’t look like we lost to a bunch of pikers.
Alas, it’ll probably be another Siena-Villanova (and ‘Nova was a 12-seed!). Small-conference team isn’t just happy to be there, but is perfectly content to get its scalp from the second-best SEC team and go home.
Sigh.
SEC losing tight ones
I was hoping Vandy would make the talking heads eat crow… so far my bracket is in shambles… I know Vandy wasn’t on their A-game but they never gave up… no shame in a loss like this.
Fuck
But at least everybody in thus goddamn Hollywood sports bar knows I lost. These Baylor fans were so quiet that the first time they cheered out loud was with 15 seconds left.
Go Dores. They’re young. We will be back.
But, shit, this sucks.

Cosign
If somebody can run the point next year, we have a future. but it’s gonna be one of those “the future is now” kind of years…

I just heard.
Been stuck at work, was TiVoing the game to watch this evening, when one of my co-workers just spoiled it for me.
Argh!
Honestly, it's for the best ...
would rather just know, rather than having to live it, when something like that happens!
I don't know what's worse
A) all the pundits crowing about being right
B) being forever posterized in the highlight reels
C) paying $500 for two seats to see this and not having any takers for the other sessions.

One thing that this game did for me ...
it restored my faith in the Obama administration.
After that Kentucky/South Carolina fiasco, I had started to lose hope.
Still here...but
I really don’t like basketball right now. If this UTEP/Butler game went to 7 overtimes and ended with a half court shot, I wouldn’t even blink. How many times will we have to see that shot over the next 2 weeks?

I suppose I should be grateful...
…that Georgetown shat the bed. But they didn’t give up the instant highlight.
Thank God for Guinness. And Baileys. And Bushmills for that matter. And the backspace key…
