Periscope: Vanderbilt vs. Georgia - SECT
Update: In my haste earlier, I forgot to add in the links to the various game previews. It has since been fixed.
Enough pussyfooting around. Georgia is a solid club, but Vanderbilt is clearly the superior team. It's time the Commodores played like it against the Bulldogs. If Vandy doesn't come out and play with the intensity and fire that they've shown against teams like Kentucky and Tennessee, Georgia will advance. That's the bottom line, plain and simple. Play with heart. Play with purpose. This is Vandy's best shot at an SEC Tournament title since I've been alive. The stars have aligned for a run to Sunday. Take care of business.
If anytime, anywhere is the team's mantra, how about 9pm and Bridgestone Arena?
Ken Pomeroy gives Vanderbilt an 80% chance of victory (78-69 with a tempo of 68).
Bulldogs vs Commodores coverage
Schedule Breakdown

The Commodores will be the most efficient offensive team and the 17th most efficient defensive team that the Bulldogs will have played this season. Georgia will be the 8th most efficient offensive team and the 21st most efficient defensive team that Vanderbilt will have played this season.
Statistical Breakdown

Everyone knows about Trey Thompkins and Travis Leslie for Georgia. Stallings has referred to Georgia as one of the three most physical teams this season in the SEC (along with Kentucky and Vanderbilt). When comparing the tempo free statistics of the various key players and the two benches, Vanderbilt nearly sweeps the board.
Four Factors: Vanderbilt is the better team with regards to turnover percentage (TO%), free throw rate (FTRate) and effective field goal percentage (eFG%), which Georgia is clearly the better offensive rebounding team (OReb%). Prediction: I'm not sure that Vanderbilt has put forth its best effort against the Bulldogs in either matchup this season. Whether that fact is due to Georgia's play, Vanderbilt's lack of motivation against the last-place team in the tough SEC East, or some combination of the two, I believe that Vanderbilt's recent loss to the Gamecocks on Jermaine Beal's Senior Day has them motivated to play. I think Vandy wins eFG%, FTRate, and TO%, while Georgia takes OReb%.

Your First Sentence Sums It Up Perfectly
We are the better team. Period. F Cinderella and all that crap. Tonight we need to come out furious and take what is rightfully ours.

I don’t mind it being a close game. I think GA has consistently improved throughout the season and is peaking right now – watch out for them next year – BUT let’s show some heart and walk away the winner, dammit.
"And with the 16th pick, the Tennessee Titans select..."
I would be more terrified...
…if we hadn’t lost on Senior Day. I could see the guys rolling in fat and sassy and assuming that since this one’s at home (virtually), of course they’ll breeze by the #6 team in the East – and getting gobsmacked.
Hopefully they’re still steaming from Saturday and will come out hard early and keep the throttle down. The committee is looking for an excuse to drop the Dores below chalk for the Sweet Sixteen, and we need to avoid giving it to them.

Festus has outplayed Steve in both games against the dawgs
Neither saw a ton of minutes in the first two games, so I would like to see more minutes for Festus in this one.
Also, the dawgs shot over 45% from three against us in both games. They shot 37% on the season. Hopefully they are due for a correction.
Well said
Nothing to add…let’s not play like crap. Let’s win.
