Tennessee is destroying South Carolina at home…65-38 with 8:30 to play.

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 7:46 PM EST reply actions

UK/LSU

It almost didn’t even seem fair for that game to have to happen…the other top teams in the conference won/are winning big today. I’d love to prove our place in that tier tonight!

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 7:51 PM EST up reply actions

Devan Downey…26 points, 5-20 shooting. par for the course.

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 8:08 PM EST up reply actions

Du….Du Hast…..

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 7:50 PM EST reply actions

Is there a game tonight or just a concert celebrating Georgia’s ass kicking during the Civil War?

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:02 PM EST reply actions

The music choice really captures college basketball, I feel.

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 8:07 PM EST up reply actions

It looked more crowded with the lights off

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:10 PM EST reply actions

apparently no one goes to georgia home games.

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:11 PM EST reply actions

I wonder, is that just because they are 1-6 or is it typical?

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:11 PM EST up reply actions

Hard to say since they are 1-6 so often

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:12 PM EST up reply actions

Georgetown-Villanova was played in the middle of a blizzard (2 feet of snow) w/ no transportation options open other than above ground Metro, yet they outdrew Gerogia. Impressive turnout in Athens.

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:11 PM EST reply actions

By Gerogia, I meant Georgia

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:12 PM EST up reply actions

no, gerogia sounds better

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:12 PM EST reply actions

ugggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh just give him the two

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:13 PM EST reply actions

I see more people clapping for Vandy than UGA…not complaining.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:14 PM EST reply actions

jeff taylor needs to shoot the ball

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:14 PM EST reply actions

Is their coach the man that plays David wallace form the office?

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:15 PM EST reply actions

Larry Connelly and Dave Neal

I thought they killed Raycom/Lincoln Financial/JP…

by KingJamesIV on Feb 6, 2010 8:15 PM EST reply actions

georgia is averaign 1 turnover per possession

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:16 PM EST reply actions

Sloppy

Tinsley for leading scorer!

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 8:16 PM EST reply actions

jeff taylor needs to remove his vagina and slame one down

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:17 PM EST reply actions

Paisley Rate:

Currently 1.000

I will update this periodically.

by KingJamesIV on Feb 6, 2010 8:18 PM EST reply actions

Besides the obvious "Brad" connection

Is there a reason for the Tinsley/Paisley switcheroo?

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 8:21 PM EST up reply actions

has AJ been on the court?

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:19 PM EST reply actions

His corpse was out there. Soul will arrive w/ 5 minutes to go in the half. It’s his curse.

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:21 PM EST up reply actions

over under on number of david greene jerseys in the building?

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:21 PM EST reply actions

Not a great start for Taylor

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:22 PM EST reply actions

what the hell is wrong with us

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:23 PM EST reply actions

Momentum

Is not with us…we need a stop fast.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:23 PM EST reply actions

if we ever play anyone with a decent inside game (demarcus cousins) we are in trouble. UGA has YMCA players down low, and were getting raped

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:24 PM EST reply actions

Thompkins and Price are not bad players

But that doesn’t change the fact we have played like crap so far…

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 8:26 PM EST up reply actions

The lack of crowd seems to be fazing the team

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:25 PM EST reply actions

It is definitely a different road atmosphere….

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:25 PM EST up reply actions

The empty chairs are starting to make a little noise. Festus trying to take them out of the game.

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:26 PM EST reply actions

Fes

Nice. Shut the minuscule crowd up.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:26 PM EST reply actions

Damn

My feed is way behind yours…

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 8:27 PM EST up reply actions

Who knew East TN could have perks?

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:27 PM EST up reply actions

I grew up in Nashville…I’m still trying to adjust to rural life. I’m 1.5 hours from Knoxville.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:31 PM EST up reply actions

reduced rates on grain alcohol
can get service without shirt or shoes
highest national ratio of Hardees:residents

I’d say there’s lots of perks…

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 8:29 PM EST up reply actions

if only mrs stansbury were there

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:26 PM EST reply actions

wow. awful coaching, awful playing

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:30 PM EST reply actions

“Brokeback Mountain” was a terrible movie selection for the trip to Athens

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:31 PM EST up reply actions

Holy crap

We look bad. Georgia is playing terrible and winning by 10.

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 8:33 PM EST reply actions

Odds that we break 20 by halftime?

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:35 PM EST reply actions

On pace for about 35 this game. nice.

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 8:35 PM EST up reply actions

shoulda bet the under

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:35 PM EST reply actions

They have more turnovers than we have points. That’s just awful.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:35 PM EST reply actions

Our big 3 needs to wake the fuck up

Beal/Ogilvy/Taylor – 2 points combined. They’re playing like someone spread ebola all over the rim.

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 8:37 PM EST reply actions

That hit Andre and he didn’t even try to catch it for the rebound…really?

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:38 PM EST reply actions

That was not the first three

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:41 PM EST reply actions

Do you expect the Paisley fans to keep correct stats?

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:42 PM EST up reply actions

nba scouts are drooling over AJ righ tnow

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:42 PM EST reply actions

Yeah, with this play they’ll want him before the end of the season….

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:43 PM EST up reply actions

This just in

Larry Conley loves to see people on ball

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 8:44 PM EST reply actions

On the positive side, this game should be much worse than 21-18. Much much worse.

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:44 PM EST reply actions

without jermaine we are a 0-21 team

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:44 PM EST reply actions

Dan, remember the song that kept playing on the radio on the way back from new orleans?

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:44 PM EST reply actions

The Buzz – Northern Alabama’s premier radio station.

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:46 PM EST up reply actions

FTs

We might be shooting 25% at the line, but 25% > 0% UGA is shooting.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:48 PM EST reply actions

FSS

Blowing the Atlanta Hawks like it is their job

by VandyFanwithaTie on Feb 6, 2010 8:49 PM EST reply actions

We’re a Skuchas away from my dream frontcourt.

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:49 PM EST reply actions

My favorite Skuch moment: he had just cut his hair so that it was short, but he still did the head toss to “get his hair out of his eyes.”

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:51 PM EST up reply actions

AJ making crap passes to pad his block stats

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:50 PM EST reply actions

If there was ever an atmosphere to remind him of high school, you’d think this would be the game…

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:50 PM EST up reply actions

Good thing they put Jeff in. He’s also terreible lately

by VandyFanwithaTie on Feb 6, 2010 8:50 PM EST reply actions

Showing Sund...

If Sundiata Gaines can get a contract with the Jazz, surely Beal could get lucky too…

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 8:50 PM EST reply actions

I refuse to believe that JErmaine Beal is going to be the one to take the reins of Vandy players in teh NFL from Will Perdue.

by VandyFanwithaTie on Feb 6, 2010 8:51 PM EST up reply actions

doesnt this game feel like no one wants to be playing it? wouldnt the uga players rather be drinking at a frat party?

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:50 PM EST reply actions

If you were stuck in Athens for 4 years

Wouldn’t you prefer to spend it drinking at a frat party?

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 8:52 PM EST up reply actions

get fuckus out of the game

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:52 PM EST reply actions

the ole double cum…nice

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 8:52 PM EST reply actions

Jermaine Beal is boiling over. What does that mean?

by VandyFanwithaTie on Feb 6, 2010 8:52 PM EST reply actions

Someone needs to get Steve and Brad some cranberry juice…

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 8:53 PM EST reply actions

If we became the "Beals"

…could our mascot being $$$ signs?

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:53 PM EST reply actions

Dammit

How is Yahoo sports getting faster updates than espn 360???

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 8:53 PM EST reply actions

My ESPN box score is slow, too. Must be all of ESPN.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 8:54 PM EST up reply actions

Train, how would you feel about the Pacers drafting Beal?

Better or worse than if they picked up Alex Gordon on the open market?

by VandyFanwithaTie on Feb 6, 2010 8:56 PM EST reply actions

I think Beal could outplay AJ Price, who started at the point Friday…other than that it’s TJ Ford (benched), Earl Watson (old) and Travis Diener (blindingly white) at the point…so I’d be ok with it. And Alex Gordon is the dream piece for a Jim O’Brien team. He’s like Antoine Walker, only a foot shorter and without the gambling problem (probably). And I’m sure he’d teach us all new and exciting ways to get technicals.

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 8:58 PM EST up reply actions

Now I'm torn...

Second half on shitty espn360 feed…or local bar for UFC and possibly getting the Vandy game via the SEC network?

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 8:59 PM EST reply actions

The dancers were always top notch while I was there. The cheerleaders were more hit or miss.

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 9:02 PM EST up reply actions

Based on personal experience

From 2004-2008, the dance team was spectacular. Cheerleaders steadily fell off and were borderline gross by the time I graduated.

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 9:11 PM EST up reply actions

ummm, dont look now. its pretty much an 0 fer

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:02 PM EST reply actions

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:12 PM EST reply actions

Alright, this feed is crap

Gonna head out and see if I can catch it at the bar. Also, I’ll be hanging out with my slightly creepy neighbor. Wish me luck.

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:16 PM EST reply actions

this time it’s steve

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:17 PM EST reply actions

A few minutes ago the crazies at FSN were praising Paisley’s 3-pt shooting…and now they say he’s not that consistent. Short term memory loss.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:18 PM EST reply actions

This is not an appropriate point in the season for him to hit a Tinsley slump…

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:20 PM EST up reply actions

OR

We are not putting much effort into offensive rebounds…If we were shooting more than 50%, I wouldn’t be complaining.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:21 PM EST reply actions

i love jermaine beal.

this song makes me think about him and his delicious jump shots

JoJen...

Can’t even hit his 2 FTs

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 9:26 PM EST reply actions

I wish we would just put these losers away

Tinsley and Beal with 32 of our 41…anybody else is welcome to join whenever they feel like it.

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 9:28 PM EST reply actions

LANCE!!!!!!!!!!! DAMMItT

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:28 PM EST reply actions

4 fouls on Dre…and that’s all he’s contributed.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:28 PM EST reply actions

worst game of walker scareer

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:29 PM EST reply actions

They cut it to one while LG and JT are down in the backcourt.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:30 PM EST reply actions

Did Lance just get punched in the head by Taylor?

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:30 PM EST reply actions

yes. maybe itll stop him from taking idiotic 3s

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:30 PM EST reply actions

sorry that was mean

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:30 PM EST reply actions

AJ… wow… Really? Wow…

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:31 PM EST reply actions

this is so embarrassing

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:31 PM EST reply actions

AJ looked like a middle aged basketball coach teaching first graders to shoot a layup

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:32 PM EST up reply actions

That raging Dawg crowd is too much for us…

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:31 PM EST reply actions

If you look at the stats, we should be down much more than 1…

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:35 PM EST reply actions

Now up by 1…Thanks, Darshawn!

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:35 PM EST up reply actions

darshawn sighting?

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:35 PM EST reply actions

Darshawn!

Who knew he was the missing piece!

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 9:35 PM EST reply actions

Sadly, this feels like a lot of our games in Athens

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:35 PM EST reply actions

oh my god. nba scouts drooling over AJ

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:36 PM EST reply actions

I don’t even know what to say about that last move

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:36 PM EST up reply actions

Has Jeff ever had a game this bad?

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:37 PM EST reply actions

jeff taylor needs to be taken out

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:37 PM EST reply actions

At least Jeff helped the team by taking out Lance. What has AJ done?

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:37 PM EST reply actions

put in duffman. i dont care

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:37 PM EST reply actions

leslie awesome from the line

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:39 PM EST reply actions

1 and 1 come on brad

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:39 PM EST reply actions

The crowd finally arrived…and I’d like to shut them up again.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:40 PM EST reply actions

Paisley

officially leading scorer.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:40 PM EST reply actions

do we know how to play basketball?

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:41 PM EST reply actions

No

We just like to knock the ball out of bounds to give UGA another chance.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:41 PM EST up reply actions

AJ just saved the possession for them

Wow… just wow…

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:41 PM EST reply actions

INDULGE ME

worst games of career tonight:

1) Jeff Taylor
2) John Jenkins
3) Festus Ezeli,

Anyone care to argue?

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:42 PM EST reply actions

you can add lance and AJ to that, too

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:43 PM EST up reply actions

AJ has 3 points. He should definitely be included.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:43 PM EST reply actions

Crowd shouting “USA” at AJ…he proceeds to make the next FT.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:44 PM EST reply actions

Then they stop chanting and he misses

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:44 PM EST up reply actions

Hell, I’ll shout at him if it makes him hit his shots.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:44 PM EST up reply actions

Also, I think they were just misspelling UGA

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:45 PM EST up reply actions

They do misspell Dogs, so I wouldn’t be surprised.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:45 PM EST up reply actions

i know its a cliche, but we couldnt be playing worse

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:44 PM EST reply actions

an hour and a half into the game…

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:46 PM EST up reply actions

that was a terrible sequence of events

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:46 PM EST reply actions

You just summed up the game thus far in a very concise manner.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:46 PM EST up reply actions

That was a quick turn of momentum. Fast break about to go up one… then UGA shooting two. WTF?

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:46 PM EST reply actions

Microcosm of night

We blow 3 on 1, Leslie draws a foul on AJ. Sigh…

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 9:46 PM EST reply actions

Microcosm #2

Ogilvy and Tinsley fight each other for the rebound, then sit and watch it go out of bounds, UGA ball…dammit

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 9:49 PM EST up reply actions

Microcosm #3

AJ blows a layup, Leslie hits a long jumper…dammit

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 9:50 PM EST up reply actions

#3

AJ actually gets close to the basket, misses the layup and doesn’t draw a foul.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:51 PM EST up reply actions

dan – thursday – georgia vs uk womens basketball. you in?

by bloggywo on Feb 6, 2010 9:47 PM EST reply actions

I feel like I’m watching a women’s game tonight

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:49 PM EST up reply actions

This game might just reveal our dependency on our FT points.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:49 PM EST reply actions

We’re used to having 4 players scoring in the double digits…not even close yet.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:52 PM EST reply actions

We’re also not used to being limited to this few points, but really “limited” is a wrong term…we’re doing it to ourselves.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:54 PM EST reply actions

Georgia not giving up any rebounds. Vandy not making any shots. Bad combo.

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:55 PM EST reply actions

UGA 3. We’re done

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:56 PM EST reply actions

and again.

Why does every team automatically shoot better threes against us?

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:57 PM EST up reply actions

5 assists in the whole game?

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:57 PM EST reply actions

Well, it was fun seeing us on the ticker for a week…

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 9:57 PM EST reply actions

That possession leads me to believe it isn't our night

UGA almost dribbles it out of bounds, gets it back, almost throws it out of bounds, has McPhee drive the baseline, and kick out to a wide open shooter who nails the 3. Damn it all.

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 9:58 PM EST reply actions

I really want to sweep UT…can we rebound from this (potential) loss like we did from the UK loss? This time without making idiotic mistakes in the last four minutes?

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 9:59 PM EST reply actions

That was AJ's best play of the night

A wild flop on the baseline after getting elbowed by McPhee…

by VolnVA on Feb 6, 2010 10:00 PM EST reply actions

“A point of emphasis—elbows being thrown”…the UK refs didn’t get the same memo.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 10:01 PM EST reply actions

Okay.

I say we make a pact and never talk about this game again.

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 10:06 PM EST reply actions

Funny thing was I thought we had this in the bag after that terrible first half and going up 8 in the second.

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 10:07 PM EST reply actions

How long have you been a Vandy fan? Nothing is ever in the bag. 23 years and counting…

by doredarling on Feb 6, 2010 10:08 PM EST up reply actions

Putting aside that I don’t count women as sports fans, the point of the post was that after a dreadful first half we were up 8. If we put together even a mediocre effort, we win this game by 20.

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 10:11 PM EST up reply actions

I fucking hate playing at Georgia. They can have three scholarship players on the roster and still beat Vanderbilt.

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 10:12 PM EST up reply actions

Also, Sam Adams’ Noble Pils is the worst beer I have ever had. It was a fitting beer for this game.

by Vandy Dan on Feb 6, 2010 10:13 PM EST reply actions

Awesome

Kinda happy I didn’t have to watch the bullshit 2nd half on espn360…

by Train Island on Feb 6, 2010 11:13 PM EST via mobile reply actions

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
