SEC in the Rankings

This is my first attempt to post, so bear with me.  Gemini, green eyes, free safety, enjoys long walks on the beach, virgin daiquiris, and Commodore basketball.  I'm trying out this whole beard thing, so you'll have to let me know what you think; have to admit, I'm a little surprised at how much gray I have in the chin area.  I'm not old enough for that yet.

Introductions out of the way, let's talk SEC basketball.  The conference is having a nice bounce-back from last year's disaster, and it bears out when the computers do their computations.  Perhaps not to the '06/'07 heights yet, but we'll get there soon enough.  Here are the numbers for your consideration & discussion:

CBS Sportsline* RPI Rank SOS 1wk-trend 4wk-trend
Kentucky 6 57 -3 +5
Vanderbilt 11 19 -1 +10
Tennessee 22 29 0 +3

Alabama 98 44 -3 -18
Georgia 102 9 +3 -2
Arkansas 114 47 ? ?
Auburn 143 75 ? ?
LSU 220 91 ? ?
* CBS Sportsline used because it is a consistently good approximation of the actual NCAA published weekly RPI.

Nice work

You’ll have to show me how you got such crisp tables sometime.

Excel

Just copied & pasted out of Excel!

Weird, that never comes out right for me and ends up adding too much extra space in the html. Guess I’ll just have to try harder.

Double check how it looks by clicking preview. Sometimes the way it looks in the editor is nowhere near what it will look like when it’s formatted

Preview works most of the time

But sometimes tables still get shifted from layout to publishing, though not too badly. I started trying to use Word tables pasted from Excel since they format a little better, but none have come out as nicely as these. I’ll have to try it again.

skillz

not sure if it matters, but I’m using excel 2007.

I would bust out the html table skillz too, if necessary!

Y'all are better than me.

There. I said it. Quit hating on my weak sauce table building.

Bunch of bullies is what you are.

I make my tables on an etch a sketch. Then take a polaroid of them. Scan the polaroid at Kroger. Save on floppy drive. Load image to home computer. E-mail to myself on my AOL account. Then load. No need for HTML, biatches.

Photos of Tables

I do copy and paste the +/- and the game preview tables I do in Excel into photoshop (or paint, depending on where I am) and save them as png’s on flickr (then reference them using html img tags. It’s just so much easier than dealing with the whole thing.

That’s another idea Train that is actually pretty easy to do

Bingo

Speaking of +/-, I’ll have the UT stuff out tonight.

I’ve had a rough week as far as my actual job…but I’m done for the week as of now and am heading to VEGAS BABY! for the weekend!

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
