Why does it say "Welcome to you are 'Doom!'"? What does that even mean, and why, for God's sakes, is "Doom!" in quotes?

Just a reminder that Vanderbilt's week of athletic inactivity ends December 29, as the Commodores host the 9-3 Marquette Golden Eagles at 8:00 PM in a game that will go a long way for either team's NCAA Tournament hopes.
