Wow, JT really has been underwhelming this season.

Lowest +/- amongst starters. Only Thunder is lower for guys in the rotation.

Taylor ...

his numbers are abused by the first halves of the West Virginia and Grambling State games, and by the fact that he (essentially) didn’t play in either second half. Maybe we would have had the strong second halves with Taylor … or, maybe not … will be interesting to see if his numbers correct themselves closer to the “starter mean” by the end of the non-conference schedule.

I love how

Our top four +/- guys are pretty much guys we thought were “role” players coming into the season. Based on the per 40 scores, there isn’t that much difference between Tinsley, Ezeli, Walker and Goulbourne. Our two top guys, Jenkins and Taylor, are more grouped with Tchiengang and Odom, which is just a testiment to our bench strength this season.

Tinsley #1?

Wow – that surprises me. I’ll be very curious to see if that holds up after this three-game stretch (WKU, Belmont, Mizzou).

I would have guessed Festus as #1 by a wide margin.

Last year, IIRC, our starters were generally a notch above our bench players. That there is currently no such distinction is, I think, a good sign.

Your memory is correct

Through 7 games or so last season:

http://www.anchorofgold.com/2009/12/6/1188002/postgame-vanderbilt-67-depaul-54

This shows that no only are we more balanced this year, but so far, beating teams by a greater margin. Steve, thte 8th most effective player on an adjusted basis is ahead of 5 players from last season at that point.

But Brad is playing really well right now – on the break he is getting the ball to guys for easy scores, and once he gets us into the offense we have been scoring. He is also really doing a great job on the defensive glass, which helps our break tremendously.
