Taillgate?
Hello. Hoping you can help me out with some info. I’m a Buckeye fan visiting Nashville for the first time next weekend. Since OSU has a bye, I was thinking of hitting Vandy/Florida. Can you shed any light on where the best tailgate spot would be?
Vandyville
There’s a huge area with a giant tv screen and loudspeakers on campus right outside the stadium that Vanderbilt has designated “Vandyville.” There will be a lot of VU fans in this area, though you’ll probably also find tons of Florida tailgaters in the area as well. Plus it’s right outside the stadium. I’ve got a link to the spot on Google Maps, and you can just enter your hotel address to get directions.

Thanks
Thanks for the info! I assume you can buy/drink a beer at Vandyville? I’ll definitely be backing the Commodores. I loathe Urban. A google map link would be awesome.
What’s the story on tickets? I see them on stubhub for what feels like a very reasonable price compared to OSU tickets but will there be scalpers near the stadium? I’m unfamiliar with the laws in Nashville but assume it’s all good.
Great content you’ve got here. A couple buddies and I run a fairly popular OSU blog (http://elevenwarriors.com) if you ever want to get your Buckeye on.
Link is in my previous reply...
at the bottom right above Anchor of Gold (kind of in camo) “Vandyville”.
You can drink beer but you won’t be able to buy beers at Vandyville proper. There are gas stations and a liquor store on nearby West End…and most of the tailgaters will have their own supply, and most are friendly enough to share if you walk up and introduce yourself.
Tickets should be easy to come by. Vandy’s taken some measures to snuff out scalping around the stadium, but you can still find them, especially on West End (right before/after you buy your booze!)

I know no one here needs convincing
But just for kicks:
Hurry-up Sucks Fact of the Day: In the 1st quarter in which we had 140 yards of offense over 13 plays, the time of possession was 9:19 Arkansas to 5:41 Vandy.
Now, obviously, the defense got owned, and we were never going to win TOP yesterday, but seriously, if the D is getting crushed already, all the more reason to minimize the time that Mallett has the ball.
Bonus no-huddle fact: we lost TOP to EASTERN MICHIGAN! In a game we won 52-6, and ran 70 plays compared to their 62, we still lost TOP and it wasn’t even that close. 33:00 to 27:00.
I’m not sure if someone else has brought that up yet, but who on the offense doesn’t look at that and say, hey, what happens if we are playing a team that isn’t terrible. Even if our offense is playing very, very well, if the opposing offense isn’t remarkably terrible, we are going to be giving up points in the 4th quarter.
If I was the defensive coordinator, I’d be losing my mind. “Listen, we aren’t great at getting off the field, but we often are pretty good at keeping the score down. Give us a freakin’ chance.”
I’d be screwing with the QBs on the sidelines giving signals. Unplugging Des’s headset. Switching the hats on the QBs so Larry can’t tell who’s live. Anything to slow them down. What’s the worst that can happen? It’s not like we can go 2 and out.
