Hoopspowerpoll2009logoa_medium
Anchor of Gold Ballot /// Results at Ghost of Chucky on Friday

# Team Record AP ESPN Pom Sag Comments
1 Kentucky Wildcats
18-0 (3-0) 2 2 13 7 #1 Here and soon to be #1 in both media polls.
2 Tennessee Volunteers
15-2 (3-0) 8 8 10 10 Reinforcements have arrived. Well...two of them at least. Trap game at Georgia?
3 Vanderbilt Commodores
14-3 (3-0) 26 27 22 21 First time since '89-'90 to be 3-0. 4-0? Not since Clyde Lee.
4 Mississippi St. Bulldogs 15-3 (3-0) 23 27 36 34 Win at Alabama and they have two wins over biggest challengers in SEC West.
5 Mississippi Rebels
14-4 (2-2) 22 24 32 24 Loss against UT on the road only affecting SEC Tourney seeding at this point.
6 Florida Gators 13-5 (2-2) X X 49 52 Gutted one out against Arkansas on the road. Big game Saturday against South Carolina for 4th in SEC East.
7 South Carolina Gamecocks 11-7 (2-2) X X 79 76 Two game losing streak against upper tier SEC teams. Road win versus Florida would be huge, obviously.
8 Alabama Crimson Tide
11-7 (1-3) X X 76 79 Still a better team than Arkansas statistically. Need to start playing that way. Opportunity presents itself this weekend.
9 Georgia Bulldogs
8-8 (0-3) X X 94 97 Toughest opening schedule of any SEC team? Who did Mark Fox tick off at SEC HQ? Earning respect through losses not really a consolation prize to UGA fans.
10 Arkansas Razorbacks
8-10 (1-2) X X 130 158 Playing much better after the return of Fortson. Razorbacks enter the Blue Mist this weekend.
11 Auburn Tigers
10-9 (1-3) X X 128 154 Stole one against LSU. Unfortunately it was LSU.
12 LSU Tigers
9-9 (0-4) X X 168 160 Poor Tasmin Mitchell. He scores 38 and the team fails him.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
