Postgame: Western Kentucky 76, #24 Vanderbilt 69

Please, Lord, let this game be to the 2009-2010 Commodores what the Furman game was to the 2006-2007 Commodores.

What can you say? No heart equals another loss. Jeffery Taylor played well. Jeff -- you were 9-12 from the field. Please take more shots.

I'm heading out of town for a few days. I'll post a more thorough reaction while I'm gone, as well as update the plus/minus stats.

For some catharsis, why don't you post what you think are the three biggest problems, and how exactly you would go about fixing them.

OK, now I'm panicking

I guess you saw warning signs in the Illinois game that I didn’t pick up on. I don’t know what’s going on with this team. Instead of taking the benching and coming back to prove something, AJ loafed through another game.

I sure hope they draw on the lessons from the 07 team. WKU isn’t quite Furman at home, but we’re headed toward that kind of outcome.

AJ has basically only been able to score (till last night) so I understand the benching. He hasn’t been playing D, rebounding, passing well, etc. I mean the only players giving energy all yr have been Festus and Taylor.

It's definitely not the way we wanted to go into the break

One can only hope that taking a step back can help this team play. Maybe it can give Stallings some perspective about what’s going on. Also can give the players a chance to chill out and not put so much pressure on themselves.

Disappointing way to end the first part of the season, but there’s still plenty of time left, and heck we are still 6-3. But perhaps some players were buying just a little too much into the hype and not buying into what was really important: doing what they’re coached to do.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
